About our Logs
Our
raw timber sources are always standing dead Englemann Spruce and Lodgepole
Pine from the Rocky Mountains, Colorado to British Columbia. As conservationists,
we value the use of standing dead timber as an environment-friendly
way to tap a renewable resource.
Another reason we go great distances to get natural dead
trees for our products is because of the dimensional stability they
provide. This allows us to be one of very few providers permitted to
use the Timber Products Inspections "Dry" designation on our
grade stamp. Use of our dry timber eliminates the major problems of
shrinking and warping common to green timber. Our timber, as well as
all dry natural timber, does have some checks or cracks indicative of
natural drying.
You may choose from our four milled sizes of house logs
: 6x6, 6x8, 8x6 and 8x8 inches. All of our house logs are Double Tongue and Groove
"Dee" style, which is curved on the outside and flat on the
inside with a chamfer at the horizontal joint. We also mill and supply
2x6 and 2x8 tongue and groove decking, 2x6 and 2x8 shiplap log siding,
and 1x6 tongue and groove Aspen paneling.
